A rare Monday in Malibu for a sunrise-NOT.  Foggy but coming through soon I’m thinkin’.

“50 Shades of Gray” is out…a best seller about S&M bringing the dark side up for examination.  Letting us know we are not alone in our perversions – what turns us on.  What shames us.  Whatever that may be, we are surely not alone.   And I need not see it. Let it flow on by to bring light to the darkness.  That it too may show “How to Find the Soul (Using Your Dirty Mind.)   Yes yes yes, it IS all one.  Thank You Spirit.

Rewriting separates the men from the boys. The first draft is love.  The second is sex. The third is fun. The rest are all pulling teeth. Getting that seventh draft done is like dropping your beautiful vase on the floor and trying to glue all the million little pieces together to make it look good again.    …Matthew Sand

I take photos of the sunrise every day….since 2001.   Created a website www.sunrisesunrise.com  offering them for special occasions like a baby’s birth, weddings, anniversaries.

First half of my life I lived in Chicago doing – jobs, school, marriage, MBA from the University of Chicago, jobs, with two fabulous kids.  In 1996 I was gifted with a dream of Q from Star Trek Next Generation that changed my life.  Q said three things:  Who are you……..I want you naked……..Trust me.

Overnight my world shifted from doing-doing-doing to the journey within.  I was guided to write a movie to be titled “How to Find the Soul (Using Your Dirty Mind) about this quest, though I’d never written anything before.   Then in 2001 I was called to the sunrise to get a picture of it for every day of the year.   Living in Chicago at the time, there were many days when the sun didn’t show up at all, and so it took me over 4 years to accomplish that mission.  By then I was hooked, and now never need to set a clock to get up in time.  Even when I went to Australia,  was up on time for the sunrise.

The movie is now written and brought me to Los Angeles in 2006 to pursue getting it made.

I was totally surprised to find that it is possible to see the sunrise over the ocean at certain points in Malibu.  Though the screenplay is not yet sold, I have spoken to John de Lancie, who played Q so brilliantly, and still hope to engage his participation in it.  The sunrise collection continues to grow and now totals over 15,000 sunrises, many posted on Facebook.  Contact me for the photos of the sunrise on a specific date.
